What is RIKON's warranty?

RIKON Power Tools, Inc. (Seller) warrants to only the original retail consumer/purchaser of our products that each product be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of five (5) years from the date the product was purchased at retail. This warranty may not be transferred.

This warranty does not apply to defects due directly or indirectly to misuse, abuse, negligence, accidents, repairs, alterations, lack of maintenance or normal wear and tear. Under no circumstances will Seller be liable for incidental or consequential damages resulting from defective products. All other warranties, expressed or implied, whether of merchantability, fitness for purpose, or otherwise are expressly disclaimed by Seller. This warranty does not cover products used for commercial, industrial or educational purposes.This limited warranty does not apply to accessory items such as blades, drill bits, sanding discs or belts and other related items.

Seller shall in no event be liable for death, injuries to persons or property, or for incidental, contingent, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of our products.To take advantage of this warranty, contact us by mail, phone, or e-mail. Proof of purchase documentation, which includes date of purchase and an explanation of the complaint, must be provided.

Do I need to register my RIKON product for warranty protection?

We do require our products to be registered. For warranty protection please save your dated cash register receipt as proof of purchase. If warranty service becomes necessary, your dated cash register receipt will help the technical service advisor to expedite your repairs. Serial numbers and manufacturing date codes may not be sufficient evidence of warranty coverage.

What if my RIKON tool has shipping damage?

All shipments should be unpacked and closely inspected upon receipt by the buyer for damage and/or loss. For its protection, the buyer must sign by piece; note any damage, suspected damage or loss on the freight bill at the time of delivery. If any damage or loss is noted on the freight bill the buyer must save all packing material for carrier inspection. Any subsequent freight claims must then be made directly by the buyer against the delivering carrier, including any claims for concealed damage and/or loss. RIKON Power Tools will render all possible assistance with such claims.

What is recommended for cleaning my RIKON tool?

Prior to cleaning any tool, first unplug from the power source. All Cast Iron surfaces should be cleaned with WD40 type product. After this cleaning, an application of a sealant to protect the surface. Top-Cote spray is a powerful anti-corrosive, low friction, durable coating, as well as a sealant. Use it on your table saw top, jointer bed, hand tools, or any metal surface for maximum protection against friction and rust. Top-Cote is low temperature rated and is formulated specifically for surface coating. Another brand of table-top surface lubricant is Empire. Empires micro lubrication technology bonds to your machines cast iron surface structure and reduce sliding friction between wood and metal surfaces. It eliminates board hang-up and binding for smoother material feed. Contains no silicone or petroleum oils. Perfect for all saw tables, jointer and planer beds, drill press tables, sander tops, and power and hand planes. It also helps to prevent corrosion.

Painted or Plastic Surfaces: Mild solutions of detergents will aid in removing most dirt. Do not use scouring powders or solvents as they will scuff or dull the finish. Try to keep water away from non painted metal surfaces. Do not use glass cleaner as it will promote rust. Wipe dry all surfaces after cleaning.

Bare Metal Surfaces: Non painted metal surfaces and castings should be cleaned with quality metal polishes and sealers. Try not to get metal polish on painted surfaces as it may dull the finish. Do not use glass cleaner as it will promote rust. Wipe dry all surfaces after cleaning.

Does RIKON recommend a specific type of lubricant for parts maintenance?

Unplug power tools before cleaning or performing maintenance. All gear operated mechanisms require quality non-aerosol white lithium grease. Areas to grease include guide post rack and pinion assemblies and table trunnions on bandsaws as well as table raise/lower gears and spindles on drill presses. Other areas to use white lithium grease also include threaded assemblies for blade tension and drive belt tension in bandsaws and in trunnion assemblies on table saws. Light oil can be used on friction areas such as door/lid hinges and wheel axles. Contact Technical Support at 877-884-5167 for detailed information about specific models.

Why do some blades tension differently then others?

Certain blade manufacturers cut their blades at different lengths. Some can be up to 3/8" oversized causing lack of tension.

What is the best blade for my project?

This would depend on the type of saw operation and the material being cut. Call our Tech Support Staff at 1-877-884-5167 for more information.

How do I adjust my bandsaw blade for tension?

You can increase or decrease blade tension by turning the blade tension knob. The blade tension knob is located on top of the upper wheel housing.

How can I add more tension to the drive belt?

Simply loosen the two motor bolts and pivot the motor to the desired tension.

Where do I find the serial number on my Model 10-300 Bandsaw?

The Serial number can be found on the back of the upper wheel casing.

Easiest on the market! Simply lower the over sized belt over for easy access to the pulleys.

How do you prevent faceplates and chucks from sticking to the spindle face?

The best way is to use a plastic washer between the faceplate and spindle face. This will prevent chucks and face plates from binding to the spindle face. Stock #70-990.
